BART Tech Day

BART Tech Day was held Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at the University of Tampa.  Speakers shared their scintillating insights on technology in TESOL and promoted dialogues throughout the community.  In addition, conference grants for SSTESOL were awarded to lucky BART members at the end of the day.



BART Fall Kickoff Social Dance in the Park


The BART Fall Kickoff was held Saturday, September 30th at Macfarlane Park in Tampa. This year, we were excited to join forces with Jarryd Randolph of Casino Revo dance school.

Following the dancing, members of Bay Area Regional TESOL shared some light bites, networked, and discussed the upcoming year of BART events.

BART SYMPOSIUM – June 10th 2017. SPC Clearwater

The Annual BART Symposium was held on Saturday June 10th, 2017,from 8:30am – 1:00pm at SPC in Clearwater.

Our plenary speaker was Enilda Romero-Hall Ph.D. in Education from the University of Tampa.  A link to Dr. Romero-Hall’s presentation is below.

As in every year, many TESOL professionals shared their teaching experiences through interactive sessions at our symposium. BART encourages local TESOL professionals to share stories, strategies, materials, and research through interactive sessions that involve attendees in engaging discussions and hands-on learning experiences.

SSTESOL – (May  11 – 13) West Palm Beach Florida

The annual conference affords us needed time and space to share experiences, have some fun, collaborate and network with our colleagues across the field of TESOL. Our theme is “Know your players; Master your game”

Board Election in the Spring – 2017

A Board election occurred during this spring, it included opening positions for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, and Members at Large. If you applied for a Board position, you will be notified via email. Our new board members will be presented on our Summer Symposium in June 10th, 2017.

Thank you all the members who participated and shared their experiences on how technology is impacting the field of TESOL. Congratulations to Patricia Stevenson!!! Patricia received a $250.00 scholarships to attend SSTESOL in May, 2017! There are still two more BART’s Conference Grant fro SSTESOL 2017. Submit your grant proposal by March 1st, 2017!

We had a half-day of workshops and presentations all related to using technology in language teaching. This was the first time we did this kind of event, and the first time we had a mini-conference at UT, and we appreciated how many people joined us!
